Description
Charlotte’s Fusible Thread is a specialised nylon thread designed specifically for fusible appliqué. Unlike traditional fusible web or stabiliser, which can leave fabrics stiff once fused, this fusible thread allows appliqué shapes to remain soft, supple and flexible.
The thread is used primarily in the bobbin, where it melts when heat is applied, bonding the appliqué shape to the base fabric without adding bulk. This makes it especially useful when working with multiple layers or where a softer finish is important.
When used as intended, the fusible thread secures the appliqué shape in place, allowing you to complete the work with decorative or invisible stitching for a permanent finish.

Advisory
For best results, use Charlotte’s Fusible Thread in the bobbin and a non-fusible thread such as monofilament in the top. The thread melts at approximately 250°F (121°C). Do not use it as a top thread, as it may melt if it comes into contact with a hot iron. If exposed directly to the metal plate of an iron, the thread can melt and adhere to the surface. Always test on a scrap before use.
