A bit about our Bernina Longarm Machines for Hire
BERNINA has a long tradition of focusing on quality and innovation and with over 125 years of experience building sewing machines with Swiss precision and engineering know-how they have now perfected it on the longarm too.
You cannot fail to be impressed!
Sit Down Q20 or Q16
If you are an experienced free-motion quilter, very little support is required for our Sit Down Machines, bring a project and start quilting.
The Q20 is set in the RMF table which is height adjustable with just the press of a button.
The Q16 is on our fold down table and can be set at one of three different heights for you at the beginning of the day.
Frame models Q24 or Q16PLUS
If you are not experienced with free motion quilting, a frame might be a better place to start.
Our Q24 longarm machines are both on hydraulic lifts so can be adjusted to suit your preferred working height.
One of our frames is set up with the option for using Pantographs, this is available at no additional cost. (Let us know when booking.)
As we use zippered leaders finishing in one visit is not an issue, if you do not finish your project in the allotted time, it can be taken off the frame and very easily reinstalled on your next visit. (Deposit required for the leaders.)
Our Q16PLUS on the Studio 5ft frame is ideal if you are wanting to quilt a smaller project up to 60" wide.
We are very proud to be able to offer you the opportunity to use the Bernina Qmatic (computer controlled stitching).
Qmatic software has hundreds of edge to edge designs borders motifs and block designs to choose from so with another certification session (an hour or so), you can be creating your first custom quilt design.
Qmatic stitching is generally slower than free motion. It is easier to learn the process by mastering the basics of free motion on your projects before embarking on the Qmatic journey.
Art & Stitch software is loaded on the Qmatic to create so you can learn to create your own designs in the future.
We have two frame Q24's a 5ft Studio Frame with Q16PLUS (This machine also has the option to do Pantographs and for group bookings can be extended to 10ft,) as well as 2 Sit-down Q series machines.
We are available for small groups to come along and enjoy a day (or week) with friends for coffee, cake and maybe some longarm quilting. (See our retreats section)
Before you can hire any of our Q series machines, you are required to complete a certification session.
The session involves:
Learning to load the frame models with your quilt.
Screen navigation and stitch set up
Threading including bobbin winding and tension set up
Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR)
Health and Safety
