Aurifil 12wt Cotton

Aurifil 12wt is a heavy, chunky cotton thread that creates bold, highly visible stitch lines with beautiful texture. Its weight makes it ideal for big stitch hand quilting, decorative hand stitching, and broderie perse, as well as machine applications where a pronounced, statement stitch is the goal. Available in 325m large spools, 1750m large spools, cones, and variegated options, the 12wt range offers a wide colour palette including both solids and multicolours.

Recommended needle: 100/16 or 90/14 Topstitch.

Aurifil thread is 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton, grown in the MAKO region of Egypt on the river Nile. Long-staple fibres produce a stronger, smoother thread with minimal lint. While not organic, Aurifil is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified - free from harmful chemicals and completely safe for human use, so you and your loved ones can wrap yourselves in those lovingly stitched quilts without worry.
