Aurifil 28wt Cotton

Aurifil 28wt is a versatile cotton thread suitable for both hand and machine use. Thicker than standard piecing thread, it provides visible stitch definition while remaining smooth and reliable through a sewing machine. Available in 750m large spools, 700m variegated large spools, and 3300m cones. The 28wt weight is an excellent choice for hand quilting, machine quilting, bold topstitching, decorative seams, and visible detail on garments, bags, and accessories, particularly where a stronger, more pronounced visual line is desired.

Recommended needle: 90/14 Topstitch, Quilting or Denim.

Aurifil thread is 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton, grown in the MAKO region of Egypt on the river Nile. Long-staple fibres produce a stronger, smoother thread with minimal lint.
