Easy and quick navigation with touchscreen and multi-function knobs

Find the right stitch or embroidery design with ease using the centrally positioned 5" colour touchscreen. Adjust stitch length, stitch width, and embroidery positioning quickly with the multi-function knobs. Built-in tutorials provide helpful guidance, while the creative consultant offers advice on selecting the best stitch for your fabric. The B79 Harry Potter Special Edition also gives direct access to its exclusive embroidery motifs and decorative stitches.

Bright and spacious for fast and accurate sewing

Four bright LED lights illuminate the sewing area, while 230 mm of space to the right of the needle provides a generous working area. The slide-on freearm extension table adds extra support, making it ideal for large sewing, quilting, and embroidery projects.

Decorative, quilting, and Harry Potter themed stitches

Sew everyday seams, stretch fabrics, and precise buttonholes with confidence, then explore a wide range of creative options. The machine includes 133 decorative stitches, 35 quilting stitches, and 5 exclusive Harry Potter decorative stitches. Stitches can be customised or created using the Stitch Designer, with settings saved in the machine memory for future use.

Tie-off function and automatic thread cutter

The automatic tie-off function secures your seam at the touch of a button, removing the need to sew backwards. The automatic thread cutter trims threads cleanly for a professional finish. Both functions can be programmed to the foot control with back-kick function for faster and more efficient sewing.

Even more convenient sewing

The semi-automatic needle threader simplifies threading, while the presser foot lowers automatically into position. An additional thread cutter keeps threads neat and secure. The included knee lever allows hands-free control of the presser foot, and the integrated Bernette dual feed ensures even fabric feeding from both above and below.

For best sewing and embroidery results

The 7 mm stitch plate allows for wide decorative stitches, while the included straight stitch plate provides improved accuracy for embroidery. The machine automatically detects the stitch plate in use, recommends suitable needles, and adjusts stitch width settings accordingly, ensuring consistent and precise results across all projects.

With three embroidery hoops included, it is easy to select the right size for each project. You can embroider designs up to 10" by 6" (260 mm by 160 mm) without re-hooping. The hoops feature a quick release system for easy opening and closing. Automatic hoop detection displays the correct embroidery area on the touchscreen, allowing you to position and adjust your design with confidence.

Creative possibilities with built in embroidery designs

With 208 embroidery designs, including 10 exclusive Harry Potter motifs, and 7 embroidery alphabets, you have a wide range of creative options ready to use. Designs can be edited directly on the touchscreen, allowing you to rotate, mirror, combine, and scale elements with ease. You can also import your own embroidery designs via USB, giving you complete creative flexibility. The B79 supports common embroidery file formats, removing the need for additional conversion software.

BERNINA Toolbox embroidery software for expanded creativity

Expand your creative possibilities with the included BERNINA Toolbox software. The Lettering and Editing modules provide access to 300 additional embroidery designs and 100 fonts. A wide selection of further designs can be accessed through the BERNINA Cloud, where motifs can be edited directly using a tablet or computer before transferring to your machine.

At Quilt Direct, we want you to feel confident and inspired with your new Bernette machine. That is why we offer a free one to one “Set Up to Sew and Go” online session to help you get started and enjoy your first sewing project with ease.

During this relaxed introduction we will guide you through the essential functions of your machine, including threading, winding the bobbin, selecting stitches, and understanding the basic features. The aim is to help you feel comfortable and ready to begin sewing.

If you would like additional guidance, further one to one tuition can also be arranged. Sessions can be conducted online via Zoom or in our Studio, depending on your preference.

Our Studio is located within the beautiful Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. If you are travelling from further afield, we are happy to recommend local holiday accommodation to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Your machine will be shipped via courier, we send out machines Monday to Thursday on a Next Working Day Delivery Service. Alternatively, you are very welcome to arrange to collect from the Studio.
