The Bernette B35 is a mechanical sewing machine with no computerised controls. The width, length and pattern of the stitch is easily set by turning the three knobs. The tension can be adjusted during sewing, using an easily accessible wheel. The Bernette B35 also has an automatic, 1-step buttonhole function, which is quick and easy to use.

At Quilt Direct, we want you to feel confident and inspired with your new Bernette machine. That is why we offer a free one-to-one “Set Up to Sew and Go” online session to help you get started and enjoy your first sewing project with ease.

During this relaxed introduction, we will guide you through the essential functions of your machine, including threading, winding the bobbin, selecting stitches,  and understanding the basic features. The aim is to help you feel comfortable and ready to begin sewing.

The session usually lasts up to 1 hour. If you would like additional guidance, further one-to-one tuition can also be arranged. Sessions can be conducted online via Zoom or in our Studio, depending on your preference.

Our Studio is located within the beautiful Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. If you are travelling from further afield, we are happy to recommend local holiday accommodation to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Your machine will be shipped via courier, we send out machines Monday to Thursday on a Next Working Day Delivery Service. Alternatively, you are very welcome to arrange to collect from the Studio.
