These FriXion Gel Pens use thermo-sensitive ink, not permanent ink. The markings react to heat and become transparent, making them useful for temporary fabric marking.
On fabric, markings can be removed by washing according to the garment or fabric care instructions. As a helpful tip, the ink can also be made invisible by applying heat of at least 60°C with an iron. Please note that a faint yellow residue may remain after ironing.
Because the ink reacts to temperature, markings can reappear in very cold conditions, typically around minus 10°C.
FriXion pens are particularly useful for cutting lines and general layout marking where accuracy is needed but the marks are not intended to remain. We do not recommend these pens for marking quilting lines or areas that will be stitched permanently.
