Mettler Silk-Finish Cotton 40 is a 40wt sewing thread made from 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton. Its slightly thicker construction creates a defined stitch line for quilting, patchwork, decorative seams and embroidery. Mercerisation increases resistance to breaking, reduces shrinkage and improves resistance to ironing heat.
Silk-Finish Cotton 40 can also be used for general sewing and cross-stitch. For machine embroidery, choose patterns that are not digitised too densely to accommodate the thicker thread. It can be used as an overlocker looper thread for decorative effects, combined with Mettler Seracor as the needle thread.
