The BERNINA Hook
The heart of the BERNINA 4 Series features a novel, centrally placed driver, which allows the BERNINA Hook to run fast yet quietly. The BERNINA Hook sews high-precision stitches up to 9 mm in width with speeds up to 900 stitches per minute. The bobbin holds up to 70% more thread than standard bobbins allowing you to sew longer without interruption. 

BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension
The BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension, a BERNINA innovation, provides ideal thread tension for each and every stitch type, in any variation. The tension is electronically adjusted to the selected stitch width, length, speed, and needle position on each penetration of the needle into the fabric. The result is the finest stitching without pressing a button. 

Sew with Even Greater Ease
The BERNINA B480 accomplishes many tasks all by itself.  Threading is semi-automatic, and the thread is cut automatically when you reach the end of a seam.

Magnetic Accessory Box
Included with each of the B480 is the accessory box that keeps all you most used feet and accessories near by, it conveniently sits on the back of your machine for storage secured by a magnet in the base of the machine.

Bernina Stitch Regulator (enabled only)
The BSR foot assists you with free-motion sewing and quilting with a straight or zigzag stitch, ensuring stitches of the exact same length even at variable sewing speeds.

Every customer receives a personalised 1-2-1 introduction to their machine, either at the time of collection or shortly afterwards.

We also offer a complimentary** Bernina Mastery Session at our Studio, which you can attend within two years of purchasing your machine. Additional sessions are available at the standard rate.

Our Studio is located within the stunning Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. The area boasts scenic walking trails, cycling routes, fishing spots, golf courses, and more; perfect for entertaining non-sewing partners and family members. If you require details on local holiday accommodations, we’re happy to assist.

Additionally, Bernina’s London Tuition Centre provides free machine-specific tuition for new Bernina owners, offering even more opportunities to refine your skills.

Bernina machines sold in the United Kingdom currently include a full 7 year manufacturer’s warranty covering the whole machine, giving you long term confidence in your investment.

At Quilt Direct, we want you to feel confident and well supported with your new machine. We will help you register your warranty so everything is set up correctly from the start.

To activate the extended warranty, complete the warranty card included with your machine and return it to Quilt Direct. We will sign and register the warranty for you and arrange for your official extended warranty certificate to be issued by Bernina’s UK distributor, Bogod & Co.

To maintain the extended warranty, the machine should be serviced within the recommended service periods. Bernina sewing machines include electronic stitch counters which display an on screen message when a service is due.

Even if the machine is used only occasionally and the stitch counter reminder has not appeared, the machine should still be serviced at least once every 3 years to keep it running smoothly.

The extended warranty applies to normal domestic use only and is valid for the original purchaser of the machine. It does not apply to machines used for educational or commercial purposes.

Your machine will be shipped via courier, we send out machines Monday to Thursday on a Next Working Day Delivery Service. Alternatively, you are very welcome to arrange to collect from the Studio. If you require advice before purchasing, our team will be happy to help.
