The BERNINA Hook
The heart of the BERNINA 4 Series features a centrally placed driver, which allows the BERNINA Hook to run fast yet quietly. The BERNINA Hook sews high-precision stitches up to 9 mm in width with speeds up to 900 stitches per minute. The bobbin holds up to 70% more thread than standard bobbins allowing you to sew longer without interruption. 

BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension
The BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension, a BERNINA innovation, provides ideal thread tension for each and every stitch type, in any variation. The tension is electronically adjusted to the selected stitch width, length, speed, and needle position on each penetration of the needle into the fabric. The result is the finest stitching without pressing a button. 

Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure
Apply pressure or take it off. That’s what this feature is all about. Thick fabrics need less pressure so they glide under the foot with ease. Thinner more delicate fabrics need more pressure for perfectly even stitches. Raise or lower the pressure with the click of a dial.

Or the reverse sewing and securing buttons that are conveniently located at the front of the machine and easy to reach with the thumb. Plus, you’ll love the vast selection of decorative stitches and alphabets.  Free arm sewing makes it convenient and easy to handle closed projects, like cuffs.

At Quilt Direct, we want you to make the most of your new Bernina machine. That’s why we provide extended support and assistance to help you unlock its full potential. Every customer receives a personalised 1-2-1 introduction to their machine, either at the time of collection or shortly afterwards.
We also offer a complimentary** Bernina Mastery Session at our Studio, which you can attend within two years of purchasing your machine. Additional sessions are available at the standard rate.
Our Studio is located within the stunning Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. The area boasts scenic walking trails, cycling routes, fishing spots, golf courses, and more; perfect for entertaining non-sewing partners and family members. If you require details on local holiday accommodations, we’re happy to assist.
Additionally, Bernina’s London Tuition Centre provides free machine-specific tuition for new Bernina owners, offering even more opportunities to refine your skills.
**A small fee applies for refreshments, materials, and threads used during the sessions.

Bernina Machines sold in the UK currently have a full 7 year warranty on the whole machine.

To qualify for the extended warranty you need to register the purchase of your machine by returning the completed warranty card to us to sign. We will then arrange for a certificate of extended warranty to be sent to you from Bogod Co.

In order to comply with the extended warranty you will need to maintain the machine and have it serviced within recommended periods. All Bernina sewing machines have electronic stitch counters*, which give an on screen message when it is necessary to have a service. However, even if a machine is only used occasionally and the stitch count for a service is not reached, it is still necessary to have the sewing machine serviced a minimum of every 3 years.

The extended warranty applies for normal domestic use only - not educational or commercial use - and to the first purchaser only.

Your machine will be shipped via courier, we send out machines Monday to Thursday on a Next Working Day Delivery Service. Alternatively, you are very welcome to arrange to collect from the Studio.
