Join us for a fabulous six-part month Masterclass Series celebrating the art of patchwork and quilting!  Led by our expert quilter Karen Purdew, this inspiring series is perfect for those ready to develop their skills, explore new techniques, and bring unique projects to life in a friendly, creative environment.

This season, we'll be focussing on the New York Beauty block one of the most iconic and striking quilt block designs.

Dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the New York Beauty is renowned for its dramatic curved piecing, radiating points and beautiful geometric symmetry. While deeply rooted in quilting tradition, it lends itself equally well to bold, contemporary fabric choices, making every project unique.

Although the design has a reputation for being challenging, Karen will guide you through each stage using modern templates and foundation paper-piecing techniques, making this classic block both achievable and enjoyable.

Throughout the six sessions, you'll develop your skills and confidence while creating a project of your own choice. Whether you'd like to make a full-size quilt, a table runner or a striking wall hanging, you'll receive expert guidance every step of the way.

Karen Purdew

As our AccuQuilt specialist, Karen regularly presents classes on innovative and inspiring ways to use the dies, and the Qubes in particular. She loves to inspire customers to use the dies for a variety of patchworking and quilting techniques. When not in the studio (or in her garden), Karen can often be found demonstrating AccuQuilt at quilt shows around the UK and to local quilt groups.
