Join our patchwork and quilting expert Karen for a two day creative workshop using the stargello design and construction method.

A Stargello quilt is a modern interpretation of the traditional Bargello quilting technique. By combining strip piecing with thoughtful colour placement, simple fabric strips are transformed into stunning starbursts and geometric patterns that appear intricate but are surprisingly straightforward to create and a perfect gift for Christmas.

The process begins by sewing carefully chosen fabrics into strip sets, often arranged to create a gradual colour transition. These strip sets are then cut into segments and rearranged to produce the striking optical illusion of a star and movement across the quilt. The beauty of a Stargello quilt comes from the careful placement of colour and pattern rather than complex sewing techniques.

Throughout this course, you'll learn how to select fabrics, plan colour placement, construct accurate strip sets, and assemble your quilt top with confidence. Along the way, you'll develop essential patchwork and quilting skills while creating a unique quilt that showcases both precision and creativity.

As our AccuQuilt specialist, Karen regularly presents classes on innovative and inspiring ways to use the dies, and the Qubes in particular. When not in the studio (or in her garden), Karen can often be found demonstrating AccuQuilt at quilt shows around the UK and to local quilt groups.
