Join our in-house embroidery and bag-making expert Jo for an inspiring two-day workshop where you’ll create a beautifully versatile zip-top bag - perfect for cosmetics, stationery, craft supplies, or everyday essentials.

This hands-on class is the ideal opportunity to develop your embroidery and sewing skills, blending creativity and precision to craft something truly personal. You’ll learn how to combine machine embroidery, applique, and sewing techniques to make a fully lined bag with a structured lid, deep storage area, and internal slip pocket. The design is available in four different sizes, giving you flexibility to suit your needs.

Under Jo’s friendly guidance, you'll complete five embroidered panels before assembling your bag.  Choose from a curated selection of floral embroidery designs, or bring your own to make your bag uniquely yours.

Skill Level: all skill levels with some experience using an embroidery machine

When: 11 and 12 June 2026

Where: Our light, spacious studio at Quilt Direct, designed for comfort and creativity

Duration: 2 days

What's Included:

  • Small class size (maximum of 8 participants) for plenty of individual support
  • Comprehensive instructions and full photo guide included

What to Bring

  • A requirements list will be sent out to you ahead of the class
  • Refreshments will be available throughout the day and we will take orders for lunch to be delivered from our local cafe (chargeable) or please feel free to bring your own

Cancellation Policy

If for some reason you are unable to attend the course, we will be happy to refund the amount paid, give a credit, try and move you to another class or apply a store credit provided you give us more than five days’ notice. Cancellations less than five days prior to the class may result in a full fee forfeiture.

An expert in machine embroidery and bag-making, Jo presents classes on those subjects in our studio. You'll recognise her easily - she always wears purple! Jo works with brands like OESD, By Annie and Moda, and runs the Facebook group 'Sew with Jo'.
