Join us for a creative and practical two-day workshop designed specifically for users of BERNINA Embroidery Software 9 (Creator and DesignerPlus). Whether you're continuing from our May foundation class or joining us for the first time, this course will give you the tools, confidence, and techniques to bring your embroidery ideas to life.
Guided by James Deakins who is accomplished in the visual world cinematography and embroidery designer, you’ll gain unique insights into the artistic and technical process of digitising, using the powerful features of BERNINA V9 software.
What You’ll Learn: Techniques & Projects
Over the two days, you’ll create two complete embroidery designs (a stylised cat and a floral motif), learning the full process from concept to stitch-ready file. Each project builds your skill step by step, with clear instruction and lots of hands-on time.
You'll learn how to:
· Import and prepare background fabric for use in your design
· Apply fancy fill techniques to add texture and depth
· Use block digitising tools to define shape and structure
· Understand overlap management: when to remove stitching layers—and when not to
· Optimise your stitch-out for clean, efficient results
· Modify an original artwork to adapt it for pattern fills
· Create dimension and movement with ripple fill and stitch angles
· Use of the branching tool
· Use of the carving stamp (Designer Plus owners)
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with two completed, custom-digitised designs ready to stitch out plus a whole new level of confidence with your BERNINA software.
