Creating Designs That Are So Much Bigger Than Us...
If you've ever given a special new quilt to a mom-to-be, a fun wall
hanging to a beloved friend, or a custom decoration to a teacher who
could use a little encouragement, you know firsthand that the things you
create are much bigger than you.
Looking at things differently. and you'll start seeing quilt designs everywhere from nature, buildings, napkins and floor tiles! Learn to develop a design that fits your needs to give that project an extra special touch.

The result?
Machine embroidery applique and quilting in the hoop designs which allow YOU to create spectacular quilts and other projects.
On this retreat you will be with like minded people who want explore and improve their machine embroidery. You will be staying in the fabulous Lydford House Hotel on the edge of Dartmoor.
About Your Week
Sarah and Katherine will be hosting our very
first Retreat Week in our beautiful light and airy studios on
Dartmoor. We cannot tell you too much about the course content
right now as Sarah has yet to release it to the world! What we can tell
you is that it an exclusive new design that she is about to
launch. It is called "Daisies, Dahlias and Dandelions" aka
The 3D Collection and is fabulous. On the retreat week you will be
learning embroidery techniques in the hoop that have never been seen
before.
We were amazed at the finished result and the stunning 3D
flowers she has created. you will learn new embroidery techniques in the
hoop that have never been seen before as well as extending your confidence for
precise placement, in the hoop piecing appliqué & quilting This
is an exhilarating new adventure for us and we would love you to join us.
Accommodation
You will be staying in the fabulous Lydford House Hotel on the edge of Dartmoor.
Lydford House provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
within the Dartmoor National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Operating as hotel for over 100 years, the house was built by the celebrated
artist William Widgery (1822-1893). Now a family run venue the hotel; it has
been updated with the latest technology and the redesign of the interior decor
has restored some of the Victorian charm and period detail.
The rooms are all ensuite and tastefully furnished. There
is a large comfortable lounge, a dining room and bar. Lydford House is
set in beautiful gardens in the village of Lydford, which has a castle and is home to
Lydford Gorge and the famous White Lady falls.
Bring your
Bernina 8, 7 or 5 series embroidery machine.
We recommend that they are in good working condition and advise to make sure that they are up to date with their servicing.
You can hire a 790 PLUS machine out on request.
The Retreat Includes
- Five nights of accommodation at Lyford House Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis in double room for single use.
- Two days instruction from Sarah Vedeler
- Two days instruction from Katherine & Team
- Welcome drink and canapes on arrival with Sarah & Katherine
- Farewell Gala Dinner on Thursday evening. This is a three-course fine dining experience, privately catered by the renowned Chef Jay Baker-Jones
