May be I was asking too much for the glue to stick a 3mm ribbon onto some satin. I gave up and threw it awy

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. I am very sorry to hear that the Seam Align Glue did not perform as you had hoped when working with satin and a narrow ribbon. That must have been disappointing.This product is formulated for precision piecing in patchwork, where it gently holds fabric layers in place prior to stitching and then washes out cleanly. It is excellent for seam alignment and temporarily holding fabrics as an alternative to pins but it is not designed as a permanent adhesive or for use on slippery or delicate materials such as satin.
If you ever return to this type of project and would like suggestions for a more suitable adhesive for fine ribbons and satin, we would be pleased to advise. We want all our customers to feel supported in choosing the right tools for their work.

I purchased this glue as I always have the odd occasion when a pin just won’t do. I found it easy to use but it took me a while to get just the right amount on the fabric.
I would recommend having this in your arsenal for accuracy. I keep it with my pins as a reminder of an alternative method.

Having seen this product on the Quilt Direct YouTube channel, I purchased with doubt it could be quite that good! It exceeded my expectation. Precise piecing every time. I can't believe how a simple product can make piecing so much more accurate.
